Memories of the mother

Not everyone carries a whole letter or story. Some of us carry a single memory. Something she said at the kitchen table. A lesson she taught without saying a word. The thing she told you that you still hear when you need it most.

A memory is her voice in its shortest form. If that is what she left you, it belongs here too. Share it in your own words, as plainly as you remember it. A few lines is enough.

Our editors will read it with care and help her voice come through, the same as every letter and story.

Her photograph

Send a picture of the woman whose voice you are carrying. Your mother, your grandmother, the one who raised you. She takes her place on the wall beside all the others, going back a hundred and twenty years. This is how the wall grows, and it is the reason no one else can build one like it.

Optional, and welcome.
