Who is the All-Mother

The All-Mother is not one woman. She is the voice of our mothers and grandmothers, all the way back, and she is all of them at once.
Our collective letters and stories create her voice.
The Mother may not have been your own mother or grandmother. For some of us, she came as a stepmother or a mother-in-law. A play mother we claimed as our own. An aunt, a teacher, a neighbor who took the time to see us and share her love with us.
It is the love she gave that makes her the Mother, not the title. However she came into our lives, we are blessed to have known her.
Some of us were never held by a mother’s love. For some, that bond was marked by trauma, neglect, or abuse. Some mothers were fighting their own battles with addiction or mental illness. Some were gone before they could raise their children.
If that is your story, this place is for you too. We share the love and nurturing wisdom our mothers gave us in the hope that, in some small way, it helps mend what was wounded. Let us share our mothers with you.
